Many people swear that a hearty bowl of porridge is the best way to start the day – particularly if it’s our healthy recipe!

Apple and pear porridge

Ingredients

  • 100g Jumbo oats
  • 1 Apple peeled and cored
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Method

Slice the peeled and cored apple and put in a small pan with a cup of water.  Add the cinnamon.  Simmer gently for about 15 minutes.

Use the water that you stewed the apple with and add the oats, add more water if needed to cover, simmer gently stirring for about 10 minutes or until the oats are cooked.  Add the apples and serve.
